Azerbaijan is set to host the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) this year. After this was finalized, Baku took some steps to transition to renewable and clean energy, declaring 2024 as the Green World Solidarity Year. As for gas supplies, Azerbaijan is planning on Increasing gas exports to Europe with support from the U.S., and the EU is planning to deepen ties with Azerbaijan regarding renewables, by way of Azerbaijan's Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) project.
